Was thinking of more like HippStiff proposed with a battle system into the rp thread.

yeah, battle system RPG is better, else it would just be a copy of the GP tavern. ;)

Think of it that the Tavern is inside and battle-system RPG is outside. HEHE ;D

suggestion:

Preparation:
When starting a battle you must have listed:
* Primary Weapon
* Shield or no shield
* Magic or no magic
* Long range weapons or no long range weapons
This is so a BM will know what kind of things you will use during a battle. But you can use items nearby that you find to battle with. The BM should give the monsters weapons and etc according to what they know about the monsters.

General:
* Once a battle occurs, you may request for a BM, the first BM that tells you he is available will host the battle. This BM cannot quit unless he has a good reason for it, upon the withdrawal of a BM, another BM should come and carry the battle onwards.
* There will be a hitpoint statistic for every item. So they can be broken etc. But a BM will decide how an attack goes. You will choose which bit on an enemy to attack though. And all creatures will have a speed statistic, to determine how quickly they do things.
* You can only perform as many commands per turn as you have stamina. Your stamina is added every turn onto your character. Actions that take longer, such as picking up heavy rocks, take more stamina. A BM will decide how long something takes, just normally attacking will always cost 100 stamina. Strong spells may need more stamina than light spells as they require time to charge.

Battle Masters:
* Simple, BM is an abbreviation for Battle Master.
* The BM in a battle must know the whole story, so as to not make a character afraid of water swim etc.
* A BM is expected to know every rule clearly, and make a fight always fair. If a BM happens to be in the story they are hosting a battle for, the BM must NOT keep his character from being knocked out and the enemies from being overpowered, every fight should be fair.
* In battles each creature should have their own battle styles and moods. If a creature is sleeping it can easily be ambushed, but a PC (Player Character) or a group of PCs can be ambushed as well if they are in a forest for example. All ambushes give -50 stamina points to the ambushed party. But there are certain rules about ambushes to keep fights fair.
* If you wish to be a BM you must make a note when you create your character, you should tell me why to make you a BM as well. If you can't do the job properly, you can't get a chance to do it, simple.

Ambushes:
This section doesn't need a list.
It's very simple, if you wish to ambush an enemy in your story, you must have been ambushed before or requested a BM in advance.

At the start of a battle where you get ambushed the BM that starts the battle will add a note with a number that represents your "Ambush Points" as I like to call them. You can spend these Ambush Points at the beginning of a battle to start the enemy with -50 stamina.

Stamina:
* This will get replenished for every creature at the start of every turn.
* This is used to do things, if you try to do something very exhausting with low speed, you may fail and be vulnerable!

Status Changes:
* Poison is a great example of a simple status change, each turn the poisoned character will get damage fit for the amount of poison in his veins. For example "+poison4"
This would mean a character has been poisoned for 4 turns, each of those turns he will receive damage according to what the BM chooses.
* A classic one is -block, this makes a unit not able to block any attacks with their shield, hands or armor. The unit has received this status change from anything a BM sees fit.
* Many status changes are allowed, including +nausea, +blindness and +crippled.
* Some weapons may be dipped in potions of poison, blindness or whatever to give that weapon a status changing effect! Use this, it will help.
* Tip: A potion of accuracy with a bunch of arrows would create a nice pack of arrows that will seek their targets, wouldn't it?
Thanks to Aki

Sounds good? Anything I missed?
