Anyone here playing Battlefield 2?
I started recently, soon two months ago, with a terrible K/D and no aim since I never ever played any online FPS, closest thing was Tibia.
Playing public now, don't have a clan so public it is. :P My stats are here (http://bf2s.com/player/82689417/).

No, i dosent. But i've tried and it's really funny.
I have BF2, played some week then i was bored. Getting a new harddrive now christmas time so might install it again. It's pretty fun to play but I get bored to fast!
I've played Battlefield 2 for quite a long time now with my homie, judde. Before we began playing as much as we do, nobody used C4 explosives on cars, but after me and judde made it official that you can lead a server with crashing C4-loaded cars into tanks and apc's, people started immitating our behaviour and it became rather mainstream, which lead to us not being kicked everytime we did use the power of jihad to destroy our enemies.
Nowadays we just play mostly citymaps with no vehicles, still fun though. We should all play.

I used to play, a lot, but when one of the recent patches came out I literally couldn't play BF2 again which annoyed the crap in to me, I only obtained the rank of Corporal because I lost a lot of matches, the best match I've ever had was with a friend in an helicopter, I was gunner and we just destroyed everything in our path.
I MIGHT re-install it today..
Update: I'm now reinstalling BF2 and creating a new account, which is something I kinda don't want to do because I <3 my G63C and M95.
Edit: What patch am I soppost to install? I forgot.

I mostly play inf only city maps too, Karkand or Jalalabad. Have to admit I'm a Wake Island addict though, gotta love that map. :P

Strangly, Wake Island 2007 is the map I've played most, I love it.

Now I was a little slow on the print screen button but I'll tell you what happened. A black hawk was coming in, jet and heli after it. They damaged it pretty badly. I then placed a shot through the front window to try and take out the pilot, somehow it worked. But that wasn't the end of it - my single M95 shot was the famous last drop causing the whole heli to blow up (proof at the top left - tafse* Greldinator [Black Hawk] Sham[FIN]).

Earlier me and judde always played Wake Island just because it was so fun to fly the jets, we both bought joysticks. We had some cool tricks up our sleves, used to record some videos, but i can't find them, so i reckon they're deleted. Other than that we mostly play Strike At Karkand for jihadjeeping, and infantery only citymaps like Jalalabad, Karkand and so on.
As said before, we should all play.
I don't understand this: Battlefield 1942 most be the first BF- Game. And after that came Battlefield Wietnam, didn't it? And now BF 2142 has been released.
What is and when came BF 2?
BF2 is in 2007 (the setting, you fight wars "from" 2007). It was released after the ones you mentioned and before 2142. :)

:offtopic: Well, to say "Inform me on your nerd linguistics" is like calling someone a nerd, and im fine with that. I just pointed out the ironi about calling somene nerd and at the same time have "from Amera" in your description.
OT. I've used to play this game, but I never really liked it, I belive that it was because I´ve played to much cs so I can never accept another game fealing when it comes to a first person shooter game.
Yeah they're two very different concepts I guess. After trying BF2 I guess I'll never start playing CS, and my CS-geek friends would never consider playing BF2.
Personally I love the concept of a big battlefield with a lot of action, and as far as I've understood, CS is more about close corner batltes and quick tactics (ok BF2 is too but you get the point).

Anyone else ever done any jihadjeeping? My max fragnumber in one jihad was when i drove between two fully loaded apcs and a humvee came up behind, got about 10 dudes in one explosion. Used to have alot of jihadvideos, but i reckon they're deleted. Going to record some stuff later though.

Talking about realistic, I just started a download now for the Project Reality (www.realitymod.com) mod, looks real great. 1.7GB mod, can't wait. :happy:
Right get this, I reinstalled BF2 and the patch, but when I made a new account it was extremely jumpy, everytime i entered a new field like password the screen would go black before I could even write something, then it took ages to get in to a game, once I was in the screen went black and then I had to shut down my PC to get control back, from making a new account to logging in to a game took about half hour, which is ridiculas, this is what I had last time when a patch came out and the reason why I stopped playing.
Anyone know anything?

don't use the "play battlefield 2" icon, it tries to connect to a server directly and basically makes the game load 50 times slower. other than that, i've never had any problems.
It's not running slow, it's almost not running at all, it keeps blacking out in to a screen of darkness before going back to normal.

it's likely to be graphicrelated then, drivers or so on. are you using any software to lock refreshrates, because when i do that, my bf2 just goes black. try reinstalling new and fresh gfxdrivers, works for me

depends what graphic card you have, right klick the desktop and choose properties and there should be a preferences page which says "Monitor: LG FLATRON 901B on NVIDIA GeForce 7900GT/GTO" or whatever else depending on what graphic card you use.
I'm not sure what drivers ATI-people should use, but if it's nVidia, then just go to www.nvidia.com and download some.
And update your graphic drivers while you're at it. Did wonders for me. ;) Might fix the problem too.

I'm not sure if it will help but the little number at the bottom of BF2 when it loads is 1.1.2965-797.0, last time when I had this problem the number didn't corrispond with my friends and I had to download another patch.
It's not about the version, it's about problems with drivers for graphiccards, that's what made my battlefield 2 go black when i started it.
I have no idea what my drivers are, lol.
If you would read what i have written in my earlier posts you would have a perfectly basic guide of how to check both drivers and graphicscard

woot i just got 1st liutenent on bf 2142!! yay for me!!
Yay it works, I played for a few hours yesterday, got my promotion and a few badges, I also got 3 purple hearts in a round, which I soppose I'm proud of but I had a crappy kill:death ratio but I had high points, I came 4th in a game (which at the moment is my highest with my new account), I was 1st on my team but we lost, I've played ONLY Wake Island 2007 because I love that level so much, I was on the Chinese team and we completly protected the halo and won the game with ease!
Purple heart is something you might not want to get though, as the requirement is a K/D ratio of at 0.25 IAR with at least 5 kills and 20 deaths (or something). Fourth place is nice though. ;)
What's your ID? I used to play on Greldinator, but made a new one recently as this guy was unable to pronounce my name lol. May find me as semi-wicked now. :happy:

haha, just got banned off abc data's server for spawnraping. it's quite funny, cause in their eyes you're supposed to get killed just because someone just spawned.
